Safeguarding

Keeping children safe in school is a key priority at Nettleton Community Primary School.

Staff receive training in the following areas to ensure the safety of all children:

  • First Aid
  • Child Protection
  • E Safety
  • Positive Handling
  • Specific Medical Conditions (Epi Pen)
  • Safer Recruitment
  • Grief and Loss

The designated safeguarding lead is Mr Andrew Smith.

Operation Encompass

We are an Operation Encompass school. What this means is that if police attend a domestic abuse or domestic violence situation they will inform the school so we can support the child the next day in our setting. For more information on Operation Encompass click on the link below.

 

 

SEND

At Nettleton Community Primary School we are used to supporting children with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities. If you would like to speak to our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator about your child please contact Mrs Lianne McGagh.

We have prepared a document called the SEND Information Report (formally called the Local Offer) which will give you a lot of information about what you should do if you feel your child has any form of special needs.

Friends Of Nettleton School (FOS)

We have a very active Friends of School who raise funds for our wonderful children.

We have offered a wide range of fundraising events including  bingo nights, Christmas fairs, barn dances.

The funds raised have in the past been used to take the children to the Christmas pantomime, subsadise swimming costs and provide presents for Children at Christmas.

To get further information or to get involved please contact the school office.

 

Young Carers

A Young Carer is a child who is under 18 who are caring unpaid for a family member or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or addiction problems. This could be a sibling who may have additional needs. They often take on practical and or emotional caring responsibilities that might normally be expected of an adult.

We identify and support Young Carers in our school by giving them a named Key Worker they can speak to.   We offer a range of support for our Young Carers and their families including:

 

Access for our Young Carer Key Worker for help and support

Access to our Parent Support Advisor

An additional education vist at the end fo the school year to reward tehm for all of the care they give

If you think your chld is a Young Carer please contact our  Head of School so we can dicusss fully to support we can offer.

If there is a policy you would like that is not listed here then please ask at the school office. Paper copies of all policies are availiable upon request free of charge.
